Just ten years ago Timmy was one of my Beginner Sewing students. Timmy was meticulous in his work and he used his samples to apply for Central St Martins. He got in!
4 years later after graduation he went to NYC. I knew back then that Timmy would shine! He has a kind heart, and always remembers his time with me sending photos to say he still has his sewing samples (pictures 3-6)
Featured in The New York Times and now Vogue, Timmy is one to watch!

It really is a superpower skill and it all starts with threading a needle.

Great afternoon of alteration achievements which each student making progress with their `pile of mending`...
Here`s what we are all up to:
Eileen was shortening a hem on trousers she picked up from TK Maxx for £12. They were previously £180!
Valerie is restyling her denim jacket which she bought in Principles 20 years ago.
Rosie is altering and mending a thrifted pair of oversized Ralph Lauren trousers.
Connor resized a t-shirt and then started on altering trousers to fit.
Karen was finishing off a few dresses that all needed adjusted!
By learning these great skills my students are investing in both themselves and their clothes! It`s cool to repair. Why spend when you can save?!
They are saving paying someone else to take up a trouser hem (£15), shorten a jacket £35.
These skills can also lead to path to employment opportunities: Connor works in film costume and has already used his skills in his workplace.
