SERVICE & REPAIR
A UNIQUE BLEND OF EXPERTISE
At Colour and Cloth, sewing machine servicing isn’t just technical – it’s personal. We combine decades of teaching, design and garment manufacturing with expert knowledge of sewing machine engineering. We are proud to be the only company in Ireland offering this in-house unique blend of skills to both students and service clients.
Whether it’s a treasured family heirloom or your daily workhorse, we treat each machine with the attention and care it deserves. From colourful computerised circuit boards to simplistic engineering hand cranked machines, we welcome them all.
Ann travelled from Newry after reading our reviews. We were the only company she wanted to repair her hand cranked machine. Her Singer 28K was manufactured in 1935 and was her Mothers machine. Imagine all the clothes her mum had made, and the mending she had done for her family. Ann said it hadn’t been serviced in 50 years! This had led to the breaking of an part which made the machine unusable. Left in the safe hands of the technical team, it was ready for collection the next day. We tested stitched it on various fabrics to ensure it was running as it should. When Ann tested it herself, she knew instantly that it ‘just sounds, feels and stitches exactly as it should’. She left a Google review to express how delighted she was.
We have a gorgeous hand cranked Jones sewing machine for sale on our website – click HERE to view.
SHERWOOD VINTAGE MACHINE
Martin travelled to Colour and Cloth after reading our reviews. He wanted to have the beautiful blue and cream Sherwood machine mended for his mum’s 80th birthday. Martin’s machine will be ready this week once the new part arrives. He can follow the progress on the LIVE tracker.

SEWING MACHINE / OVERLOCKER COMBI
Anne came from Markethill with 3 machines. A Bernina record, designed and engineered in Switzerland was a delight to service. She also brought a Janome and a retro New Home. The New Home Combi DX 502 launched in the 1970’s and combined modern and professional home overlocking. This machine was not working at all. The cogs were clogged up with lint. Anne was anxious about her much loved machines being away for long and her daughter kept an eye on the LIVE tracker on the website. Once she saw her 3 machines turn green for ‘ready for collection’ she was straight over to pick them up. Our technical team spent time with Anne explaining clearly the work that had been carried out and she was delighted to find a company she can trust to do the work.

"I took my sewing machines to two other locations who didn't want to service or repair them. The NEW HOME Combi was not working at all. I rang Colour & Cloth who said yes bring them down. I had both machines serviced and the Combi repaired all working amazing."
