Let’s Meet Tina
As a sewing tutor, I am constantly in awe of the creativity and skill of my students.
Tina has been taking the Advanced Sewing Course with me for the past two seasons and has truly blossomed in her creative sewing style. Brazilian born, Tina has a natural eye for combining colour and pattern and a passion for creating fashionable pieces with fun and flair.
Each week Tina arrives in class with a selection of new garments she has sewn up on her Brother Innovis during the week, in addition to the design she is working on in class. It is a joy to encourage her passion for fashion, design and creativity.
Her husband, sister and friends are extremely encouraging of Tina’s talents. Her sister thought the pink suit she made in class was bought from a boutique.
Tina’s willingness to take risks and try new things is inspiring, and it always pays off. As a tutor, I encourage all of my students to push the boundaries of what’s possible in sewing, just like Tina does. The Red Suit
Tina is learning the technique of ‘block fusing’ her waistband pieces for her Vogue trouser suit, and how to make a ‘fly front zip’. Before each class ends, I review what has been sewn and offer additional sewing steps to progress at home.
