Meet Marcella
Marcella started her Beginner Sewing Class with Colour & Cloth in September 2021 and threaded her sewing machine for the first time. In March 2022 she completed her Intermediate Sewing Level and had also taken private tuition. She has now enrolled into Belfast Metropolitan College and starts LEVEL Three in Art, Fashion and Costume Design in September 2022.
Hi, my name is Marcella. My life changed for the better when I joined Colour and Cloth. Before then I was suffering bad with my mental health. I was lacking in confidence and did not go out of my room. I just knew I needed something to focus on I decided with a lot of thought to try the Beginners class in sewing. That’s when I read lots of brilliant reviews for group classes with Colour and Cloth.
Having met different people and meeting my teacher Christine I must say it really brought me out of myself. I absolutely loved it so much I became really eager to practice every day in my bedroom. I started off still nervous… Was my clothes making any good? Friends and family started to push me that my clothes were amazing so I just had to keep going! I went on to do Level 2 Intermediate sewing in Christine’s class. I left every week learning more and more.
My confidence has been picked up so much I’ve opened a swimwear and festival outfits business page also designing few summer sets. I’m absolutely loving my life 💖
