LET’S MEET JON
Jon is one of my private tuition students and has been attending classes over the last few years. Jon has a very individual style with a penchant for twisted denims, vintage Ralph Lauren, army surplus, black and tartan. I love working alongside Jon and helping him create his individual garments.
One of the methods Jon is using is to recreate his much loved jeans into different fabrics by using the original garment as a reference.
After meticulously unpicking the jeans, construction notes and photographs were taken. This allows Jon to trace out a new paper pattern. This new paper pattern is then checked to ensure everything matches up as it should and a toile fabric is chosen.
THE FLY FRONT
With the fly front now perfected, all that is left to do is cut, fuse and construct the straight waistband and add the belt loops.
By studying the construction of the original garment Jon has been able to design adjustments and improvements that suit him better.
Private tuition has allowed Jon to focus on his specific goals and achieve the results he wants.
HAS JON INSPIRED YOU TO START DESIGNING YOUR OWN DENIMS?
