Please read the following information.

By “You” referred to as the “Client” and “I/We” referring to “Colour and Cloth Ltd or Christine Boyle”, You are accepting the Terms and Conditions set out below. These Terms and Conditions can be changed at anytime.

Section 1: Respect in Tuition Sewing Space.

  1. Colour and Cloth Ltd provides a respectful learning environment for everyone; both student – student and teacher – student relationships.

  2. Everyone is treated equally in the class and equal time is given to each student. It should be expected in a course and class situation that students may work at a different pace, or that 1 student may require extra guidance on a certain subject.

  3. Our sewing courses are maximum 8 students, and our sewing classes are maximum 10 students so everyone benefits from lots of tutor attention.

  4. Please read the course and class descriptions to ensure you book the level appropriate to your sewing requirements.

  5. If you prefer to work at your own pace please consider private tuition. If you feel that for any reason you will not feel comfortable around other students in a course or class situation. Then it is highly advisable that you book private tuition. Please call Christine to discuss your requirements.

  6. It is the sole responsibility* of the student and not Colour and Cloth Ltd to ensure that they will be comfortable in a course or class environment.

  7. If a student becomes uncomfortable* in a course or class with other students and chooses to leave the environment neither a full or partial refund will be given. Alternate private tuition will be an additional cost and not paid for out of the remainder of the group course or class.

Section 2: Refunds and Cancellation Policy.

  1. In exceptional cases Colour and Cloth Ltd may have to cancel a sewing course or class. In this event we will give you as much prior notice as possible and will refund your booking fee or see if we can provide alternative date should you wish not to reschedule.

  2. Unfortunately we cannot accept any liability for your travel or other associated costs due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather.

  3. All course and class bookings are made online at www.colourandcloth.com.
    Sewing Course and Classes are Non-refundable and Non-transferable within 7 days notice of the date of commencement. It is the sole responsibility of the student to insure that they are able to attend the course or class.  If the student becomes unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. medical, personal, employment, holidays) they are not entitled to a refund.

  4. Once sewing courses and classes have commenced refunds are not permitted.

    (4b). A student can organise someone else to take their place. It is not the responsibility of Colour and Cloth Ltd to find a replacement student or to deal with the exchange of course or class costs in this situation.

  5. If course dates or classes are missed due to non attendance for any reason and / or late arrival, this is done at the responsibility of the student. Missed course dates, classes and late arrivals will not be refunded or transferred.

  6. Non Attendance Notification – IMPORTANT!
    YOU MUST
    contact Colour and Cloth Ltd 24 hours before your booked class is due to start if you are unable to make a class the can be done by text message, telephone call or by emailing christine@colourandcloth.com.

Section 3: Private Tuition and Mentoring.

  1. Scheduled tuition and mentoring can be cancelled and re-arranged by the student up to 24 hours before the lesson time.

  2. Cancelled time-slots by the student less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.  Cancellations can be made by text message, telephone call or by emailing christine@colourandcloth.com.

  3. If a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours by the tutor, a complimentary class will be offered at an agreed date and time.

Section 4: Publication and Media.

By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions on the booking form, you agree to your image being used as part of Colour and Cloth Ltd advertising and social media. If you would prefer not to, you have the right to do so. Please notify Colour and Cloth Ltd at the beginning of the course or class.

Section 5: Fashion Dress Design and Alterations.

  1. We offer a service of bespoke dress design and also an alteration service.  Initial consultation and first fittings are charged at £50/hour.  This fee must be paid at the initial meeting. Subsequent fittings, design and making time will be invoiced before the final design is collected.

  2. The final fee must be paid in full before collection.  An invoice will be emailed to the client with payment method stated.  Once the garment (s) have been given a final fit, approved, signed off and collected, there is no further agreement with Colour and Cloth Ltd.

  3. Subsequent changes and ‘changes of mind’ will incur additional costs.

Section 6: Sewing Machine Servicing & Repairs.

  1. All Sewing machine servicing is carried out as per the recommendation of the manufacturers manual or updated servicing guidance procedures from their website.

  2. Sewing machine service & repair payments must be paid in full before the sewing machine is collected by the customer or if being collected by a third-party such as friend or family member. We will always contact the customer to arrange a collection time and date within our 24hr service.

  3. We provide a fast 24 hour turnaround service based on parts being in stock and or available from relevant sewing machines parts supplier.

  4. The customer must try to provide all machine manuals and accessories relevant to their sewing machine. If no manufacturer manual is provide will service the sewing machine based on both visual inspection and test stitching processes.

  5. Service / Repair parts. This only applies when aspects of the sewing machine in for service repair won’t operate stitching correctly without the missing parts or components fitted.

    If the client declines any NEW parts due to cost factor or other reason. Then the default price as indicated Sewing Machine Service from £50*, Overlockers from £75* or Sewing Machine Repairs from £85* is fully payable before the sewing machine is returned to client untested within the constraints of missing parts or components.

    NOTE: *(+parts): Indicates any NEW parts or components fitted during service / repair required to fully operate sewing machine stitching functionality.

  6. 3 Month Service Repair Warranty*

    Colour and Cloth Ltd strives to ensure complete client satisfaction with our sewing machine repair services. To guarantee the quality of our repairs, we provide a three-month warranty for the sewing machines we repair. Please note that this warranty does not cover the cost of any parts fitted during the repair process.

    As part of our repair process, we thoroughly test stitch and assess the sewing operation of every sewing machine while it is in our possession.

    In order to make a claim under the repair warranty, the client must promptly report any technical issues or concerns regarding the performance of their sewing machine to Colour and Cloth Ltd within 48 hours from the time of receipt.

    Colour and Cloth Ltd reserves the right to inspect the sewing machine reported as faulty. We will arrange a suitable date and time for the customer to deliver the sewing machine back to us for further investigation of the reported fault.

    What’s Not Covered Under Our Service Repair Warranty**

    Please be aware that our service repair warranty does not cover the following:

    Sewing machine issues caused by user error: If no mechanical fault is found with our service or repairs, we reserve the right to charge a fee of £25 per incident.

    Wilful damage or misuse resulting from failure to follow the sewing machine manufacturer’s user instructions. This includes incorrect threading of the machine, improper bobbin usage, and any sewing operator errors or lack of knowledge by the customer or user.

    Repairs made necessary due to overuse or commercial use of the sewing machine.

    Consumable items such as belts, bulbs, felt pads, threaders, and needles, which are considered normal wear and tear.

    Please note that these exclusions are not an exhaustive list, and Colour and Cloth Ltd retains the right to assess and determine whether a particular issue falls within the scope of our repair warranty.

    By availing our repair services, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions regarding our 3 Month Repair Warranty.

  7. Late Sewing Machine Collection Fee*.
    As we do not have the capacity to store sewing machines indefinitely or for longer periods without prior arrangement. Therefore sewing machines left uncollected or waiting longer for collection by clients will be subject to a “non-collection“ storage fee based on a daily fixed charge which currently £5 per day as of January 2022.

    If after 1 month of no agreed collection response from the sewing machine owner, we have the right to sell your sewing machine or accept payment for storage in full before returning the item for collection.

    *We always contact clients to arrange a suitable time and date to confirm collection.

  8. Sewing Machine Repairs whilst under manufacturer warranty.
    Sewing machines not purchased from Colour and Cloth Ltd will not be supported for “repairs work” whilst under warranty. This will carried out by the sewing machine manufacture under their warranty terms at the point of which you purchase your sewing machine.

Section 7: General Information.

  1. Colour and Cloth Ltd take all reasonable steps to ensure that the information contained within these pages is accurate and up-to-date, no liability can be accepted for any errors or omissions. Terms and conditions are not binding and may be adjusted at any time.

  2. Customer information (your name, address, phone number etc) that we have been provided with will not be used for any purpose other than the business you conduct with us.
