The Stitching Circle — Community Guidelines

Welcome to The Stitching Circle. This is a small, quiet space for anyone who sews — not a feed to scroll, not a forum to keep up with. Just a snip of your project, shared in seconds, so others can be curious about how it turns out.

A few simple guidelines keep it feeling that way.

1. Brief is more than enough

You don’t need a finished project, a clever caption, or a good photo to check in. “Learning a skill” and nothing else is a completely valid check-in. There’s no such thing as too small a share here.

2. Be kind, always

This is a small, trusted circle, not the open internet. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to if you’d just nervously shared your first wonky hem. No judgement, no “well actually,” no comparing anyone’s pace or skill to anyone else’s.

3. It’s not a competition

Hearts, streaks, and spotlights are here to bring a little warmth, not to rank anyone. Your streak is private — only you ever see it. Hearts are a quiet thank-you, not a scoreboard. Nobody “wins” The Stitching Circle, and nobody should ever feel like they’re losing it either.

4. You’ll be shown as your first name and last initial

For example, “Jean S.” — enough for people to recognise each other and feel like a real, accountable circle, without your full name being visible to anyone browsing. Colour and Cloth Ltd can always see full names on website backend for admin purposes only.

5. Photos are optional, and yours to share

You can add up to four photos to a check-in, or none at all — both are completely fine. Please only share photos of your own projects, and nothing that identifies other people without their permission.

6. If something feels off, tell Christine

This community is moderated by Colour and Cloth Ltd, not an algorithm. If anyone’s behaviour, a photo, or anything else doesn’t sit right with you, get in touch directly at service@colourandcloth.com and it’ll be looked at with care. Membership can be paused or removed if these guidelines aren’t followed.

7. This is a space to dip in and out of

There’s no obligation to check in daily, reply to anything, or keep any kind of streak going. Come when you want to, share what you want to, and leave whenever you like — everything here will still be here later.
